The Senior Meals Dining Room program serves hot, nutritious midday meals and offers companionship to seniors who are at least 60 years old, their spouses and to Native Americans who are 55 years of age.
Meals are served in eleven dining locations weekdays throughout Linn, Benton and Lincoln Counties for those who are able to attend a meal site.
The Meals on Wheels Program is designed for homebound seniors and the disabled under 60 who receive Medicaid services and are unable to get to a dining room in their community. Our home delivered meals are delivered by volunteer Meals on Wheels drivers.
What is on the menu?
Each meal provides one-third of the daily nutritional requirements. Diabetic diet substitutes are available upon request. A choice between two main dishes is offered each day.
How do I get service?
Call the Senior & Disability Services in your county. Each caller will be interviewed as soon as possible to determine eligibility and in most cases meals can be reserved within a 24-hour period. Click here for Information & Referral for Linn & Benton Counties.
How much do meals cost?
A donation of $3.50 per meal (approximately half of the actual cost of the meal) is suggested, although users contribute according to their ability to pay.
Where are the meals available?
Meals are available in eleven locations throughout the Linn, Benton and Lincoln counties. Visit the meal site location page for serving days and times. Please call one of our dining room locations if you would like to request more information.
Change of Plans?
If you’ve made arrangements with the local Senior Meals Manager to have a meal delivered or to dine with us, but your plans change, please call your local meal site to cancel your meal. This helps avoid waste and prevents us from worrying about you. If we do not hear from you, we will contact you to verify your well being.
For more information about our program, or to get answers to any additional questions or concerns, please call one of our offices in your area.
