Planning
Cascades West COG helps communities with land use, transportation, facilities and services planning. Our services include visioning and goal setting, research, scenario development, alternatives analysis, process facilitation and public involvement. We have worked on collaborative jobs-housing balance, criminal justice, and emergency planning efforts.
Toledo Comprehensive Plan and Industrial Code Update OCWCOG is working with the City of Toledo to update the Toledo Comprehensive Plan and development code provisions in order to better reflect economic trends and opportunities, such as those presented by the relocation of the NOAA Pacific Homeport to Lincoln County.
In conjunction with this project, OCWCOG is working with the Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) to create modern code tools appropriate for smaller cities planning for employment uses. Both efforts are funded by DLCD, with additional support from the City of Toledo and OCWCOG.
Siletz Comprehensive Plan Between 2008 and 2010, OCWCOG staff assisted the City of Siletz in a full update of their Comprehensive Plan, including preparation of background documents and recommended code updates. Community involvement played an important role in the update process, with OCWCOG staff facilitating several community meetings and organizing a community survey.
The Siletz Comprehensive Plan update was funded by the Department of Land Conservation and Development, the City of Siletz, the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indian, and OCWCOG.
