Community Facilities Development
CWCOG helps communities solve water and sewer problems and to construct community facilities by providing financial packaging advice, preparing grant and loan applications, and assisting with construction grant management.
Brownsville Wastewater Improvements CWCOG helped the City throughout a major wastewater collection system and treatment lagoon upgrade by facilitating discussions with funders, preparing grant applications, grant administration, and monitoring labor standards. The funding package for the project included a $750,000 CDBG grant, a $250,000 grant and $300,000 loan from the Oregon Water/Wastewater Finance Program, and a grant/loan package from Rural Development ($1.2 million grant and $6.2 million loan).
Monroe Wastewater System Improvements The City's undersized wastewater treatment lagoons and pump station bypass raw sewage to the Long Tom River during periods of heavy rain. CWCOG helped the City put together the $2 million funding package that includes a $1 million Community Development Block Grant and a $1 million loan from the Oregon Water/Wastewater Finance Program. We will provide grant administration services to the City throughout the project.
Mill City Sewer System Improvements CWCOG is helping administer a $2.5 million project to upgrade sewer treatment plant and pump stations. The funding includes an $840,000 Community Development Block Grant, a $1,266,000 loan and $335,000 grant from the Oregon Water/Wastewater Finance Program, and $100,438 of local funds.
