Upcoming Event: Mass Timber Construction and Housing Development Webinar
Thursday, September 11th 2:00pm -3:30pm

The Purposes of this workshop are to provide 1) a brief orientation to mass, cross laminated timber, and engineered wood, 2) building construction and housing development use, and 3) permitting, building, and planning code requirements.  The webinar is free of charge. CEUs are available from the Oregon Home Builders Association.

Public Comment Period now open for Cascades West Economic Development Strategy

The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for 2025-2030 is now available for public comment! The CEDS is a five-year roadmap for improving economic conditions and resiliency within Linn, Benton, Lincoln and Lane counties. This document is also required to tap into critical sources of federal funding for infrastructure and business development.

The Cascades West Economic Development District (CWEDD) is looking for public input on this plan. The plan and comment survey can be found at <bit.ly/CEDS-2025>, You may also comment on the 2025-2030 CEDS is by emailing cketchum@ocwcog.org. The public comment period will run from 7/11/25 to 8/10/25. Let your voice be heard and submit your feedback today!

The Community and Economic Development Services Department provides the Region's economic development strategy, works on priority efforts under a regional action plan, and promotes coordinated economic development efforts. OCWCOG supports local economic development initiatives through research, grant writing, project development and management, and technical assistance.
