The Oregon Cascades West Council of Governments’ (OCWCOG) Foster Grandparent Program is holding an informational meeting for Linn County seniors, 55 and older, interested in volunteering in local schools and community programs. The meeting will be held at Elmer’s Restaurant located at 2802 Santiam Highway SE in Albany on February 10th from 10:00 – 11:30 am. Coffee and light snacks will be provided.
OCWCOG’s Foster Grandparent Program staff will be available to answer questions, provide a short program orientation, and enroll income-eligible senior volunteers. Volunteers serve in local schools and academic programs as they provide one-on-one support to children with exceptional needs. Volunteers serve as reading partners, homework tutors, mentoring friends and more—make a difference in the life of a child today! The Program requires a 15-hour weekly commitment, offers an hourly tax-exempt stipend, as well as meals and mileage reimbursements.
